Press Release: Jeremy Pennington of Pennington & Associates, joins Investigating Innocence, an organization that provides investigative support to indigent inmates, lawyers and Innocence Projects throughout the United States seeking to prove post-conviction claims of actual innocence.

Pennington & Associates' serves clients in both Southern, Ohio and Western West Virginia. The Ohio region includes Ironton, Portsmouth, Gallipolis and Jackson, and the West Virginia region includes Huntington and Charleston.

In addition to his work as a
private investigator, Mr. Pennington has extensive law enforcement training and experience. Prior to working as a private investigator, Mr. Pennington was a member of the U.S. Marines serving as a Military Policemen. After he completed recruit training, he went on to attend the U.S. Army’s Military Police training center. He reported for duty in April 1999 in the Fleet Marine Force. During his assignment he was deployed to Kosovo on a peacekeeping mission. He went on to train as a tactical operator and was assigned to Marines Provost Marshal's Office Special Reaction Team. Here, Mr. Pennington participated in operations involving high-risk takedowns of violent offenders, pre-planning for possible terrorist acts against U.S. military installations, surveillance, and counter-surveillance.

After being discharged from the U.S. Marines in 2003, he began work as a Federal Officer with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Police Service while simultaneously attending the Virginia Law Enforcement Training. During Mr. Pennington's work as a Federal Officer, he joined the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), where he worked as a steward defending federal officers in administrative actions, protected bargaining-unit rights, and negotiated working conditions.

Meanwhile, Mr. Pennington earned a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies from Grantham University. He went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in Analysis, from American Public University, where his research focused on the Lone Wolf Terrorism phenomena. He completed his studies and research with his paper titled: Analytical Method for The Identification of Lone Wolf Terrorist. Currently Mr. Pennington is researching investigative and analytical methodologies related to criminal defense, and threat analysis. Mr. Pennington is also an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Grantham University.
